About Stands-Up

Stands-Up is a group motorcycling companion app. It keeps riders connected through real-time location sharing, status signals, and ride coordination — without the privacy concerns of general-purpose tracking apps.

Where the Name Comes From

"Stands up" is a phrase used in group motorcycling. "Meet at the service station at 07:00, stands up at 07:30" — meaning the group departs at 07:30. The idea came from a group motorbike ride through Patagonia. There's a lot an app could do to help on a group ride, but nothing purpose-built exists.

The Problem

Group rides fall apart. Riders get separated at traffic lights, miss turns, or can't communicate that they need fuel. Current solutions — WhatsApp groups, walkie-talkies, or apps like Life360 — aren't built for riding. They're clunky, drain battery, or demand permanent location access that riders rightly don't trust.

Privacy First

Location sharing is bounded to the ride. When the ride ends, tracking stops. No background surveillance, no selling data, no creepy notifications about where your friends are at 2am. Your location is shared with your group for the duration of the ride — and with anyone you deliberately give a live-ride or replay link to.

Built for Riders

The interface is designed for glove-friendly use on a bike. Large tap targets, glanceable information, and minimal interaction needed while riding. Status signals (hungry, thirsty, need to stop) can be sent with a single tap — no typing, no voice commands.
